As the youngest member of our Pickle Panel, Gemma brings serious snack expertise and a whole lot of sparkle. When she’s not cracking jokes, making people smile, or serving up sass and sweetness in equal measure, you’ll find her spiking volleyballs on the court or reaching for her favorite snack—yep, pickles!

A proud 8th grader with a heart of gold and a love for summer birthdays (shoutout to her July 1st crew!), Gemma’s lucky number is 3—because, according to her, “I peaked at age 3 and it’s been fabulous ever since.” With big energy and an even bigger love for all things briny, Gemma is ready to judge the best of the best with fierce flavor opinions and a whole lot of fun.

Suffolk County Legislator Catherine L. Stark, a lifelong Riverhead resident and fifth-generation East End native, brings decades of public service and deep local roots to the Pickles & Paws Pickling Panel. With over 25 years of experience in Suffolk County government—including leadership roles supporting both the North and South Forks—Catherine has long championed community connection, tradition, and growth. She’s proud to help celebrate local flavor as a judge in this year’s inaugural Pickling Contest.

As the first Long Islander to receive the New York State Agricultural Public Policy Award, Bob has spent decades championing Long Island’s farming and food industries—from managing Martha Clara Vineyards to serving on the Long Island Wine Council and Farm Bureau.
